This complimentary evening program runs Wednesday, December 17 through Saturday, December 20, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Come and enjoy the splendor of Estate Whim Museum dressed for Christmas. This year’s theme is “A Calabash Christmas”. Guests will be dazzled by a spectacular light display created by Landmarks team members
The traditional Crucian Christmas tree, Randia aculeata or "Inkberry: lights up the Whim Great House drawing room and is adorned with calabash ornaments created by children and Ms. Veronica Gordon. Junie Bomba’s conchshell creations are also dancing among the branches of another great find by William "Toby" Tobias. Bromeliads, yucca, Tillandsias and ferns adorn the other rooms of the Estate Whim Great House, along with found objects transformed into festive Christmas decor at the hands of many volunteers.
Children’s activities make clear that Old-Time Crucian Christmas is a family affair. A limited number of copies of The Beautiful Inkberry Tree, by Dr. Ruth Moolenaar will be distributed, nightly.
